Since I was a child, I have always been inquisitive as to how things operate and how I can improve them. During my undergraduate career at Boston University, this curiosity led me to study sociology in order to better understand why society marginalizes certain groups of people and I focused on the public health approach to learn how to narrow these disparities.
Though seemingly unrelated to the technology world, these studies guided me to Startup Institute because I saw how technology can be a tool for upward mobility to anyone with the drive to learn it. As someone who grew up in Haiti and then moving to the immigrant neighborhood of Hyde Park in Boston, I know firsthand the impact technology can bring to these communities and I want to play a role in making this change.
The majority of my career has been focused on non-profit operations and management. Now, as a web design student, I am furthering my development skills while also learning the importance of user-centered design. Combine this to the digital marketing skills I already have and I am a Tech Unicorn in training.
I am a cat person who spends way too much time listening to podcasts and loves vegetarian pizzas.
