The constant focus in my career has been building brand awareness through creative marketing strategies and managing business relationships. My goal is to contribute in a meaningful way to a company's success while enjoying what I do every day. I spent fifteen years working in the sports television industry and then changed paths to work in the non profit sector. My experience reflects my passion and desire to be mission driven and I'm excited to follow that inspiration to the Startup Industry.
Why did you leave the corporate sector to work in the non-profit industry?
I worked at Comcast Sports Net for 15 years. Our network became partners with two non profits that I also started volunteering for. I enjoyed volunteering and requested to manage our relationships with both non profits. Managing these partnerships made me realize that I wanted to work for a mission driven organization. I was also ready for a new challenge and shortly thereafter, I went to work for City Year Boston as the Director of Corporate Partnerships.
What motivated you to return to Boston from upstate New York
I made a life decision to move to upstate New York. I enjoyed my job at MVP Health Care because it incorporated my marketing background as well as my experience in the non profit industry and working with a low income population. In this role, it was my responsibility to create and implement a strategy to market Medicaid and Medicare to people in need of health insurance. I was challenged by the opportunity to take on this newly created position.
Boston is and always will be my home and I decided to return to my family and friends. I am also a lifelong learner and Boston has more opportunities for career growth and professional development.
