Four years at college in Vermont did a number on Rider - the land of Bernie and Ben & Jerry’s has brainwashed him to believe we can drive economic growth using sustainable practices while maintaining work-life balance. Crazy, whacky ideas, right? But there’s something about the energy and nimbleness of a startup and the efficiencies of the internet that makes Rider believe this is all possible.
Rider applied some of his idealism during his three internships - a summer marketing position with Waylens, a Boston startup focused on the performance driving market, a year long project on energy usage for the mayor’s office in Burlington Vermont, and on-going community involvement in an after-school program at a local elementary school.
And yes, Rider got all caught up in what every Vermonter dreams of -- craft beer, powder, and wild trout. Three things that drive home how important it is to leave this world better than we found it.
