I came to Boston in 1999. At that time I had to adjust to a radically different culture around me and quickly learn English which I knew very little of back then.
About 2 years later I was very proficient in English and consistently on the honor roll in high school.
Fast forward to 2010; I got 2 undergrad majors in Environmental science and Sociology and was exited to start a career, but after bouncing around for a bit I realized i was interested in the subjects I picks but not passionate about them, and passion about ones work is very important.
With some soul searching and some help from insightful friends and mentors i realized that marketing and analytics were real passions for me and tech environment would help me thrive and achieve great things. So here I am, at Startup Institute, following my passion that in turn will hopefully translate to a meaningful career where my momentum can keep going.
Why marketing though?
I think one of the biggest underlying causes is that marketing hardly ever works on me, so it makes me very interested in it, but also it's just something that been a part of my life for a long time now and i just didn't look at it through the right lens.
